Orphanage

Today we went to the baby house to check up on a couple of kids who had their hearing tested and are in need of hearing aids. The baby house is for orphans 0-4 yrs. We didn't get to look around and interact with the kids like I would have liked too because the orphanage is cautious when it comes to foreigners. So I didn't get many pictures either.

Adoption here just opened back up so it was fun to see about 3 families their meeting their kids. Phillip and I were wearing our A&M shirts and one of the families was like oh "Welcome to the SEC (southeast conference- for sports)" A&M just changed over to that from the Big 12. Ashton are you impressed I knew all of that? Ha! Anyway he was a Georgia Bulldog fan! We didn't get a chance to talk to them much but it's fun to know babies from here are getting adopted. I just wish we would have gotten to do more at the orphanage.

We did get to look at the one little boy's ears. Kathy suspected that his ear canals were either short or just small which is what is causing him to be hard of hearing. They were just small, hopefully soon he'll get some hearing aids.  There was another little girl who's hearing had been tested but she had been moved to another orphanage so we didn't get to see her.

I'm hoping we can get into a couple of more orphanages while we're here just to love on the sweet kids! We'll see!!

Sweet Boy!! He's 4!

After going to the orphanage we had a meeting with one of the local girls that works with the Deaf here. The other was unable to attend. Anyway, we had a nice meeting with here and have decided to plan a retreat for the Deaf Leaders. Phillip and I really feel like they just need a little guidance and teaching to learn how to put into play what it means to fellowship, do outreach, and grow their church.

So we'll be busy planning that next week and that will happen next weekend. Please pr*y for us as we prepare for it that we would be open to what the Father would have us teach them. Please pr*y that the Deaf would be open to what we have and take it to heart. Pr*y that what they learn will start being implemented.

Things really heat up (probably literally) in July. We'll be going to the lake here for a couple of days and then Phillip and I will be joining some M's down in a village to help them with their baseball camp. They have a team coming from the States that will also be helping. We are SUPER excited!!! We'll be there from July 8-16.

We will come back to the city on July 16 and leave for the Deaf Convention in the next country up (by train... YAY!!!) on July 17. We will be gone to the convention for about a week. So July will be full of fun and adventure and the Father's work. :)

We just wanted to get everyone all caught up to date and let you know what will be happening in the coming days. Please pr*y for us as we continue to find our place here and continue to work.
